It is not an aircraft model but a small photo-etched set from the Yahu Models brand that a modeler buys for a model under construction. It deals with one particular place where plastic kits traditionally fail: the anchoring of wire bracing. A turnbuckle in itself is a tiny metal link, but without a properly executed fitting on the airframe the wire looks like a glued-on thread. The photo-etched parts give the wire a point it can logically be anchored to, and the whole bracing then looks like an engineered assembly rather than an improvisation.
The 1:32 scale is the most rewarding for this kind of work. In small scales bracing is handled in a simplified way, because the eye will not see the detail anyway, whereas here you look at the fuselage of the model close up and an unfinished wire anchorage is one of the first things a practiced viewer notices.
The set is intended for models with wire or cable bracing, that is, typically biplanes and older monoplanes with a braced wing, but it will serve anywhere else where a tensioned wire is meant to be visibly anchored. The name does not give a particular aircraft, so it is a generally usable accessory, not a set tied to one type.
Work in good light and over a surface from which small parts can be picked up, ideally over a piece of light cloth. Cut the parts off with a sharp knife, choose tweezers with fine tips and preferably curved ones. They are glued with super glue in very small drops applied with a pin, or the glue will run and flood the relief. Degrease the metal before painting and cover it with a primer for metals. We recommend tensioning the wire itself only after the fittings have dried and been painted.
