Resin wheels in 1:35 scale for the British Daimler armored car with a tread of the AVON pattern, that is the second variant of the same set, for modelers who build from a photograph.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set of wheels in cast resin for models of the British Daimler armored car in 1:35 scale. It differs from the sister set in the definition of the tread: this one carries the pattern of the AVON brand, the other the Dunlop pattern.
During the war armored cars were shod with whatever was available, so two cars of the same type could have a visibly different tread pattern, and not seldom each wheel differently. A set with a particular pattern is therefore intended for modelers who build from a particular period photograph or who want two vehicles in a diorama that do not look like carbon copies of each other. If you are building without a particular subject, the two variants are equivalent and all that decides is which pattern you like better.
A plastic wheel from a kit arises in a two-part mold and a parting line runs across the whole tire. Removing it costs time and the tread pattern usually suffers in the process. A resin casting is poured into a soft mold, the tire stays untouched around its circumference and only the casting block on the hidden side is cut off. At the same time the definition of the tread and of the rim tends to be sharper, because resin captures finer relief than injected plastic.
Wash the wheels with detergent, cut the casting block off with a saw and level the mating surface. Spray a primer, the rubber in dark gray, and then repaint the rim with a brush, or the other way round. At the end bring the pattern out with a dry brush in a lighter shade and add dust around the bead of the tire, so that the wheel does not float above the ground.
