A single-sided masking set for a model of the Super Mystère B2 aircraft in 1:48 scale, cut for the kit carried under the FRROM and Special Hobby brands.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masks for covering the glazing of a model while spraying. The one-sided designation points to masks for one side of the glazing, and express fit to pieces cut to shape that are laid straight into place. That does away with cutting from self-adhesive film and with building up frames from strips of tape, work in which the hand easily slips and the frame comes out different on each side. According to the name the set is measured for the kit carried under the FRROM and Special Hobby brands.
The Super Mystère B2 was a French fighter of the 1950s with a distinctly swept wing and an air intake in the nose. It was among the first Western European production machines able to pass the speed of sound in level flight, and it remains a rewarding subject in the model range precisely for the clean line of its airframe.
Apply the masks to clean and degreased glazing before spraying, never onto dried paint. Press the edges down with a toothpick so that paint does not creep under them. Lay the paint on in thin coats; one heavy coat tears when the mask is removed and lifts with it. Once it has dried, peel the mask off with tweezers at a shallow angle along the surface, not straight upward. The inner side of the glazing is not covered, so if you want to paint the frames from inside too, allow for a method of your own.
The masking set is supplied on its own. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
