The reference to the year 2014 in the name points to a special edition of the Aventador that Lamborghini presented in cooperation with its tire supplier. The model is a classic car kit for gluing and painting, not a finished collector's car. The exact number of parts, the extent of the decal sheet and the way the body is executed are stated on the box and in the instructions.
The Lamborghini Aventador is a two-seat coupe with the engine mounted ahead of the rear axle, a V12 of roughly 6.5 liters, all-wheel drive and an automated manual transmission. The body is carried by a carbon-fiber monocoque, the doors open upward and both the front and rear ends are shaped with cooling and downforce in mind. The special edition differs from the production version above all in its color scheme and fittings; check the particular shades and graphics against the subject you want to build.
The key to a car kit is the surface of the body. First rid the parts of flash and ejector pin marks, wash them free of mold oil residue and apply a thin primer. Spray the color coat in several light layers, letting them dry in between; only then comes the gloss coat, which once cured can be sanded with very fine paper and polished with compound. Never glue chrome parts with cyanoacrylate glue, as its fumes will fog the surface; use cement for plastic at the mating points or a glue for clear parts. Apply the decals onto a gloss surface and settle them with a softener so that they conform to the shapes. The interior is easier to paint before the body is closed over it, and the glazing is glued on at the very end.
