A kit of the two-door coupe of the seventh generation Nissan Skyline in the GTS grade. The High Society Car addition in the name refers to a line of sets aimed at the look of Japanese cars of the higher social class of the second half of the 1980s.
The seventh generation set itself apart from its predecessors with a markedly more angular approach, with sharp edges, flat sides and narrow headlights. The GTS coupe stood between the family versions and the later sharp variants: it offered rear-wheel drive and an inline six, but remained usable for everyday traffic. Cars like these were exactly the ones modified in Japan into the civil luxury style with a lowered suspension, wide wheels and additional trim strips, the wave that gave the whole period its name.
The character of this era rests on a few details. The side trim strips and the window frames deserve a sharp transition between the body color and the chrome, so do them with masking or a thin foil. A two-tone division of the body was usual at the time and suits the model enormously, but it does call for patience when painting. The wheels benefit from a darker base and a fine polish of the rims. Leave the interior in a discreet light shade that matches cars of this class.
