1:24 Akira Nakai is a figure of the Japanese coachbuilder Akira Nakai in 1:24 scale from the range of the Hobby Design brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The character captures one of the most recognizable faces of the present-day tuning scene. The 1:24 scale is the standard for car kits, so the figure will take its place without trouble beside the model of the car you are working on.
This Japanese coachbuilder is behind the RAUH-Welt Begriff workshop, famous for its wide body kits for Porsche 911 cars. Even a layman recognizes his hand: hugely widened fenders, a low-set body and striking rear wings. Nakai is at the same time known for overseeing the build of every car personally and on site, which made him a figure with a reputation of his own far beyond the borders of Japan. A figure of his likeness therefore fits into a display case with a wide Porsche as a natural accessory.
Work clothing is an advantage here, not a limitation: a sweat-soaked T-shirt, rolled-up sleeves and dusty trousers give a scene the rawness that a polished figure never has. Use muted tones and draw the folds out with dark lighting. A little fine pigment on the footwear and on the knees will give the impression of work in a workshop. Leave the face matte, so that it does not compete with the glossy body the character will stand by.
