Unlike the standing likeness, this figure captures the character seated, which is a fact given directly in the name. It is exactly the sitting character that tends to be more valuable in a scene than expected: it can be placed on a curb, on a tire, on a tool box and into the interior of a car, and it gives a scene a quiet moment instead of a static stance.
The real subject is the coachbuilder connected with the RAUH-Welt Begriff workshop, which became famous for the widened bodies of Porsche 911 cars. In the modeling world his character has become a symbol of the Japanese approach to modifying cars, where it is not only about the engineering but also about the hand of a particular person. The sitting version suits above all scenes where nobody is working on the car just then - a break, an inspection of a finished body or a conversation with the owner.
With a sitting character it pays to try in advance where you want to seat it, because the angle at the knees and the hips is fixed and there is not much room for improvisation. Prepare the surface before you finish the figure off. When painting, work with a muted palette of work clothing and with more pronounced lighting of the upper surfaces, so that the character is not lost in the shadow of the car. A matte finish suits better than a glossy one.
