An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima represents the Honda Odyssey with the factory designation RB1 in the styling of the D.A.D brand. The 1:24 scale is the standard for road cars, and the model goes well together with the other vehicles in a collection.
The Honda Odyssey of the RB1 type was introduced in 2003 as the third generation of this large people carrier. It differed from the competition in a markedly lower body and in conventional side doors instead of sliding ones, thanks to which it drove more like a large passenger car than a minivan. It was precisely the low silhouette that made it a popular basis for the Japanese VIP style, that is, for luxuriously conceived modifications of large family cars. The D.A.D brand, which is run by the Garson company, is inseparable from this style: polished wheels of large diameters, a lowered chassis, chrome details and a conspicuously appointed interior.
The large flat surfaces of the body will reveal every unevenness, so it pays to spray filler primer and sand the surface down. Spray the gloss shade in thin coats, let it dry through properly and finish with clear varnish and polishing. Chrome trim and surrounds are well imitated with bare-metal foil, which you stick on and trim the excess off with a sharp scalpel. Glue the glazing with cement for clear parts and finish the wheels only at the end, so that they do not get dusty.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
