Fujimi 1:24 Garage & Tools is a diorama set: a kit of a garage wall with a floor plate and a set of hand tools rendered for modeling, for a scene to go with car models.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a car model but an accessory: a set from the Japanese firm Fujimi from which you build a piece of garage surroundings in 1:24 scale. The box holds clear wall panels and a floor plate with a tiled pattern to stand the model on, and with them a set of small hand tools: screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, cutters, wrenches and similar workshop equipment. A small decal sheet for labels and markings is included as well. The set is meant to keep a finished car out of empty space and put it in surroundings that give it context.
Car models in 1:24 scale look far better in a display case when they have a setting. The floor plate works as a clean base under the model, the wall panels frame the scene at the back and the side, and the tools are placed on a workbench, on the wall or loose on the floor, depending on the story you want to tell: a repair, a car being prepared, or simply a machine parked in the shop. The set can be used all at once or in parts: the tools on their own also suit other scenes, for example models of commercial vehicles or motorcycles in the same scale.
The parts are injection-molded plastic, so the usual routine applies: thin cement for plastic, removal of the sprue gates and a coat of primer. The tools are small, so it is worth painting them while they are still on the sprue and cutting them off once the paint is dry. A metallic look comes from a dark base and a dry brush loaded with silver, while the handles only need a contrasting color. The floor comes alive with a dark wash in the joints between the tiles and a few faint oil stains. Leave the clear wall panels clean and bond them with a super glue made for clear plastic or with canopy glue, so that they do not fog.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The car model is not included in the package. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
