The T.50 is a supercar from the British brand Gordon Murray Automotive. It rests on several ideas that are hardly ever seen on contemporary cars: the driver sits in the center with two further seats behind him at the sides, power comes from a naturally aspirated twelve-cylinder engine coupled to a manual gearbox, and at the rear there is a conspicuous large fan that works with the airflow under the car. The whole conception aims at the lowest possible weight rather than at maximum dimensions and performance figures.
It is precisely because of the central seat and the fan at the rear that the T.50 is a rewarding subject. In 1:24 scale the body is big enough for the shape of the rear and the layout of the interior to stand out, while the model still stays within the size of an ordinary display case. The car shows well in a group of modern road sports cars in the same scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Separate the parts with a sharp blade, sand down the marks left by production and glue the joints with a cement intended for plastic models. On a road car it is the smooth surface of the body that counts: sand the areas finely before spraying, lay the paint on in several thin coats and let it cure properly. Finish the interior with its central seat before you join the body to the floor, as later on you will no longer be able to reach it. Fit the clear parts only after spraying and glue them with an adhesive that does not fog the plastic.
The kit is intended for anyone interested in modern road sports cars and in cars with an unusual engineering solution. Paints, glue and other modeling supplies are not included, unless stated otherwise; the exact contents of the package and the recommended sequence are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
