An injection-molded plastic kit of a car in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima, from the Grand Champion series. That series does not focus on the production form of the car but on its period street modification in the style that in the Japan of the 1970s and 1980s took its inspiration from the Grand Champion circuit series. Beside the coupe body the model therefore also offers a set of modification parts — a front spoiler under the bumper, a split rear wing, a modified grille, additional side mirrors and deep chrome wheels with markedly stretched tires.
The Nissan Skyline of the C110 generation was produced from 1972 to 1977 and to this day it is nicknamed Ken and Mary after the couple from the Japanese advertising campaign of the time; for short it is called Kenmeri. The HT 2000GT-X version was a two-door hardtop coupe with an inline six-cylinder engine of two liters, that is, the more sportingly tuned top of the ordinary range. It was precisely this body that became one of the icons of the Japanese street modification scene, and in modified form it is better known today than the production version.
First rid the body of mold seams and flash, sand it over and apply a primer — every imperfection is visible under a gloss finish. Apply the base color as well as the clear coat in thin layers and let them dry sufficiently between them; the final polishing gives the paintwork depth. Never sand chrome parts, only separate them and mask the cut. Apply the decals onto a gloss base, then cover them with clear coat so that the edges disappear. Stretched tires on deep wheels require careful seating — check the ride height and the toe of the wheels before you glue the chassis up for good.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
