The Aoshima GRS180 Crown Patrol Car in 1:24 scale is a plastic kit of the police vehicle Toyota Crown in the equipment of the Aichi Prefectural Police.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima represents the Toyota Crown with the type designation GRS180 in the version of a patrol car of the Aichi Prefectural Police. The 1:24 scale is the standard for road cars, and the model goes well together with the other vehicles in a collection.
The Toyota Crown of the GRS180 series came onto the market in 2003 as a completely new generation built on a new platform, with V6 engines and a modern chassis. It was precisely this generation that reached Japanese prefectural police forces on a large scale, where it serves as a patrol as well as a highway vehicle. The police version differs from the civilian one in a roof light bar, a partition, specific equipment and an unmistakable black and white finish. The long strings of letters after the type designation are the factory code of the particular equipment of the vehicle, and Aoshima gives them as a matter of course with a number of police Crowns, as with the other boxes of this series.
A black and white police finish requires careful masking. First spray the white, let it dry through thoroughly, then mask it and add the black areas. Apply the decals with the police markings over a gloss surface and finish the surface with varnish according to the degree of gloss you want. Glue the transparent covers of the light bar with cement for clear parts, so that they stay clean, and it is advisable to back the inside of the light bar with silver paint, which increases its effect.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
