The HKS Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR32 Gr.A 1992 kit in 1:24 scale captures the circuit car in the colors of a well-known Japanese tuner.
Responsibility details are not available.
A model of the racing Skyline GT-R with the BNR32 body in its 1992 season form, when the car carried the markings of the Japanese firm HKS. The 1:24 reduction is usual for circuit automobiles and makes it possible to render the details of the aerodynamic parts and of the wheels.
Among the enthusiasts of Japanese engineering the name HKS is tied above all to parts for raising the power of turbocharged engines. Taking part on the circuit was a natural continuation of their development work for firms like this: what held up in a race could also be offered to customers for their road cars. The Skyline GT-R of the BNR32 generation was an ideal subject for this approach, because its inline six with a pair of turbochargers and its drive to both axles left plenty of scope for modification. In the Japanese touring car championship the 1992 season belonged to exactly this type.
Work from the largest surfaces to the smallest. Apply the base shade in thin coats, mask the additional colors only once it has dried completely, and the gloss comes last of all. Small lettering settles better on a smooth glossy surface, where no white edges form. The rims and the brakes are worth separate attention, because on a racing car they are clearly visible.
The kit is unassembled and unpainted; the finishing lies with the modeler.
