A plastic kit of the Japanese Daihatsu Mira in the sporting turbocharged TR-XX version with aerodynamic equipment (the AERO designation), in 1:24 scale from Fujimi. The model belongs to the line that Fujimi has long devoted to Japanese passenger cars and is intended for building, painting and display.
The Daihatsu Mira is a small hatchback of the Japanese kei class, the category with firmly set maximum dimensions and engine displacement. Alongside the economical base versions, the Mira was also offered in markedly sportier variants with a turbocharged engine, among which the TR-XX designation was the sharpest choice. The combination of a light body and a small turbocharged engine made these cars surprisingly brisk machines, which earned a following of their own in Japan. The AERO addition in the name refers to the aerodynamic equipment of the body, which gave the car a lower and more aggressive look.
On a compact body every unevenness stands out, so sand the parting lines carefully before painting and smooth the surface with fine paper. Try the aerodynamic parts, side skirt trim and spoilers dry first, fill the gaps with putty and only then paint - once the finish is on they are hard to put right. Sporting versions of Japanese kei cars look good in a deep solid color with black plastic parts and stripes. Apply the decals onto a gloss base and seal them with varnish. Glue the glazing with cement intended for clear parts and finish the interior before you close the body up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
