An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa in 1:24 scale. The subject is the Isuzu Gemini of the JT150 type in the turbocharged Irmscher Turbo form; the box carries the anniversary designation Isuzu 50 Years Anniversary Special Limited Edition, that is a limited issue marking the anniversary of the marque. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Gemini was Isuzu's compact range. The generation with the JT type designation moved to front-wheel drive and, alongside the ordinary versions, offered sharply tuned forms for customers who wanted more from a small car than mere transport. The Irmscher form came about in cooperation with the German firm Irmscher, known mainly for its work on Opel cars; it brought sportier body accessories, wheels and a reworked interior. The Turbo in the name refers to a turbocharged gasoline engine.
Spray the body over a filler primer and in several thin coats; on a small car every irregularity is emphasized by the paint. Once it is dry comes the gloss varnish, under which decals go on best, and only then a fine polish. Mask the glazing and the chrome parts before you reach for the airbrush. Finish and fit the interior, the dashboard and the chassis before you close the body. The Irmscher accessories, that is the wheels and the body items, deserve particular care when cleaning up the parting lines, because it is exactly they that give the car its character.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
