A plastic kit of the four-door Kia Brisa sedan in 1:24 scale from the South Korean brand Academy. The parts are molded in several colors of plastic, so the model looks good even without an overall spray. Besides the body and the chassis the box also holds a well-worked floor pan, an interior with a driver figure and decals for the instrument panel, the badges and the license plates.
The Brisa was among the very first passenger cars of the Kia brand and was built under license after the Japanese Mazda Familia. It was a compact sedan with rear-wheel drive and a four-cylinder gasoline engine of 985 cc - a technically simple, inexpensive and durable car of the kind the South Korean market needed in the 1970s. It was built from 1974 to 1981 and over thirty-one thousand examples were made in all. For the history of the Korean car industry it is a fundamental model.
A good-looking body is helped by a primer and a smoothly sanded base, over which a gloss color lays more evenly. The chrome window frames and the bumpers stand out when you separate them with a thin line of dark wash. An interior in a single shade looks flat, so cover the seats and the plastics in different tones and bring them out lightly with a dry brush. The driver figure will appreciate the classic sequence from skin to clothing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
