An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Lancia Stratos HF rally car in 1:24 scale from the Japanese maker Hasegawa. The model is molded in good plastic, the chassis parts tend to be in a dark color, and the package includes rubber tires, clear parts for the glazing and water-slide decals. The body faithfully captures the distinctive wedge shape from Bertone and the markedly widened fenders of the competition version.
The Lancia Stratos HF was the first car designed from the ground up specifically for rallying. It was powered by a six-cylinder Dino engine derived from Ferrari, mounted transversely behind the crew. A short wheelbase and the wedge body from the Bertone studio gave the car exceptional agility and handling. The Stratos dominated the world rally championship in 1974, 1975 and 1976 and to this day is among the symbols of the golden era of competition cars.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Smooth the body carefully before painting, lay down a primer and spray the gloss color with an airbrush; a covering gloss varnish proves its worth under the decals. Finish and paint the interior, the frame and the engine bay before closing the body up. A striking rally livery with sponsor markings shows to best effect on a smooth, well-polished finish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
