An injection-molded plastic kit from the Italian maker Italeri in 1:24 scale. The model represents the formal prewar Mercedes-Benz 540K. The box contains plastic sprues and decals; the exact make-up follows the particular edition. It is a kit that has to be glued and painted.
The Mercedes-Benz 540K was at the top of German car production in the second half of the 1930s. It was powered by a straight-eight of around 5.4 liters with a supercharger, which came in when the throttle was pressed fully down. The car was supplied in luxurious coachbuilt forms and was a symbol of the prestige motoring of its day.
It pays to spray the elegant body with an airbrush over a primer and to give it a gloss clear coat, so that the shine of the period comes through. Leave the chrome trim and the gloss parts until the end. Paint and assemble the engine and the interior before closing the body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
