An injection-molded plastic kit of the fifth-generation Japanese Nissan Silvia coupe (S13) in the top K's trim, 1:24 scale, from the Sports Car Series of the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The model faithfully captures the elegant two-door body with its distinctive combination of straight lines and soft curves, the fine glazing and a finely broken-down interior with monoform seats. A full wheel suspension with steerable front wheels and decals are included. Check the exact contents of the package against the instruction sheet; paints and glue are not included in the package.
The Silvia S13 debuted in May 1988 and earned a Good Design Award for its clean design. It was offered in the J's, Q's and K's trim levels, of which K's was the most powerful — it was driven by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine of around 1.8 liters. The car became an icon of the Japanese performance scene at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s and is still popular among fans of rear-wheel drive today.
The smooth body will repay careful cleaning of the parting lines, a thin primer and paint laid on with an airbrush; a gloss shade comes out best after polishing. Detail the interior and the dashboard before you close the body up. Glue the chrome and black plastic parts with forethought and mask the glazing. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic joints. Lay the decals on a gloss base and fix them with varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
