This injection-molded plastic kit by the Japanese brand Hasegawa captures the Nissan Skyline GT-R coupe with the factory body code BNR32 in the Nismo version. It is a classic display model that is glued and painted. Check the exact contents of the box, that is the number of sprues, the number of parts and the extent of the decal sheet, against the details on the box.
BNR32 is the factory code of the R32 generation of the Skyline GT-R, the one with which this designation returned to the Nissan range in 1989. It is powered by a turbocharged RB26DETT inline six-cylinder of 2.6 liters with two turbochargers, the power is distributed to all four wheels by the electronically controlled ATTESA E-TS system, and the car also has rear-wheel steering. The Nismo version was made in a small series as a homologation basis for running the car in Group A circuit racing. It is told from the ordinary GT-R above all by a modification to the front end, which leads more air to the intercooler and to the other coolers.
The bodies of Japanese coupes from the end of the 1980s live off a smooth finish, so a filler primer, sanding of the mold seams and several thin coats of paint instead of one heavy one all pay off. Cut the parts off with nippers a little way from the part and tidy the sprue nub with a knife, so that you do not tear the plastic. Mask the glass before you start spraying and deal with the trim with a fine brush or adhesive foil. Lay the decals on a glossy surface and once dry seal them with a varnish of the gloss level you want. The interior comes out better in a semi-matte paint and with several shades of gray.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
