An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary rally car Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 in the Evolution 2 version from Heller in 1:24 scale. The model captures the racing form of the Group B car; according to reviews it has an opening rear engine cover, doors and front hood. It is a more straightforward kit with a lower number of parts, suitable for a quicker build as well. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 was a top Group B rally car. Despite its resemblance in shape to the production 205 hatchback, it was a separate racing car with a turbocharged engine mounted transversely in the middle behind the crew and with all-wheel drive. The Evolution 2 version brought more pronounced aerodynamics and higher power. With it Peugeot dominated the World Rally Championship in the mid-1980s and it became one of the most successful Group B cars.
Bring the body together, fill the gaps and spray it smooth over a primer; racing finishes come out well on a gloss base. Finish the engine bay and the interior before you close the body up. Apply the decals onto a gloss base so that they do not silver, and finish with a matte or satin varnish to match the pattern. Because of the lower number of parts it is a rewarding project even for shorter evenings.
