An injection-molded plastic kit of the sports car in 1:24 scale from Tamiya, a company famous for the precise fit of its parts. It captures the racing form of the Porsche 911 GT2 with its prominent front spoiler and large rear wing. The body sits on a finely rendered chassis with well worked-out suspension; a roll cage completes the interior. The box contains a clear underbody cover for a view of the detailed chassis, decals with racing markings and an illustrated instruction sheet.
The Porsche 911 GT2 was created as a sharply tuned, powerful version of the 911 range for sporting and racing use. A lightened body, massive aerodynamics and a strong turbocharged engine made it a feared rival on the circuits. The subject of this model raced in touring car series in the mid-1990s and was among the fast and successful machines of its class. The characteristic front spoiler and large rear wing give the car an unmistakable racing look.
Smooth the body first, spray it with a primer and lay the paint on in thin coats; for a faithful gloss, cover it with a clear coat and polish it. Apply the extensive racing decals on a smooth gloss surface and fix them with a layer of clear. Glue the glazing with an adhesive for clear parts. Bring the interior with its roll cage to life with a contrast of materials and restrained shading; the chassis under the clear cover deserves careful highlighting of its detail.
