The Honda Integra Type R DC5 as tuned by the Spoon Sports shop, a kit in 1:24 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings together two names that Japanese Honda fans know very well. The base is the Integra Type R with the DC5 body code, the sharp coupe version from the start of the new millennium, and the tuning comes from the Spoon Sports shop. Spoon works on a single marque only and its builds are among the most respected in the circuit scene.
The DC5 generation of the Integra Type R was built from 2001 and came from the same technical family as the contemporary Civic Type R. It was powered by the high-revving 2.0-liter K20A with variable valve timing, matched to a six-speed gearbox and a stiffened body. Spoon Sports builds on circuit experience: it changes the suspension setup and the brakes and lightens the car, while keeping a restrained look with no needless flash. The shop's blue and yellow identity became instantly recognizable within the community.
Track-tuned cars look convincing when the gloss is not overdone and when the detail around the wheels and brakes is right. Sport seats and the roll cage tend to be the standout element of the interior on subjects like this, so it is worth finishing them before the body is closed up. Sharp color transitions on the body are done with masking tape and several thin coats, not with one heavy pass. The headlights and the clear glazing go on right at the end so that they do not fog up.
It is a kit to be built, not a collector's model delivered ready painted.
