Eduard 1:24 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII is a color photo-etched detail set for a large model of this British fighter. It is not a model but a set of fine photo-etched parts for raising the level of detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech maker Eduard contains fine photo-etched parts in thin metal sheet intended for super-detailing a large model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII fighter in 1:24 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory that replaces and supplements selected plastic parts with more faithful metal ones. Some of the parts are color-printed, so once fitted they read realistically without laborious painting by hand.
The Spitfire Mk.VIII was one of the mature versions of the legendary British fighter with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. It came about as a full-fledged variant for medium and high altitudes with a strengthened structure and modified cooling, deployed in the Mediterranean, in Burma and in the Pacific among other places. The large 1:24 scale invites you to get the maximum out of the detail with exactly this kind of photo-etched addition.
The parts are cut from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bent over an edge or in a photo-etch bender. Use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or a glue for photo-etch; go over the color-printed areas as little as possible. Degrease both the photo-etched part and the surface of the model before gluing.
The accessory is supplied unpainted (apart from the color-printed parts) and without the model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
