The real subject

The Suzuki Cappuccino is a two-seat roadster falling into the Japanese kei class, that is the category with fixed limits on external dimensions and engine displacement. That is precisely why it has only a three-cylinder of 657 cubic centimeters under the hood, with a turbocharger added. The engine is mounted longitudinally at the front and drives the rear wheels, which is unusual on so small a car and, together with the low weight, gives the car balanced handling. The roof is divided into removable panels, so the car can be run as a closed coupe, as a targa and as an open roadster.

Building and painting tips

With car models the quality of the paintwork decides. First wash the mold release residue off the body, sand the parting lines down and apply a thin primer; spray the color in several light coats and finally cover it with a gloss varnish, which can be polished once cured. Chrome and black trim strips are easier to apply with a fine brush than to mask. Finish the interior and the windscreen frame before you close the body up. With this car it pays to decide in advance whether you will build it with the roof panels or without them; that affects the order of painting as well as of gluing.
