An injection-molded plastic kit of the competition Toyota Celica Turbo 4WD in the Grifone rally team livery in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The package holds well-molded plastic parts, rubber tires, clear glazing parts, chrome-plated components and waterslide decals for the Grifone team color scheme. The model faithfully captures the wide body and the aerodynamic features of the Group A rally car.
The Toyota Celica Turbo 4WD (internal type ST185) was a successful Group A competition car of the early 1990s. The combination of a turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive made it one of the most powerful cars of its era, and the works Toyotas took the highest titles in the world championship with it. Besides the factory team, private teams ran the Celica too, among them the Grifone team, which started with the car on the Tour de Corse.
Use thin cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Smooth the body, apply primer and spray the gloss color with an airbrush; the sponsor markings stand out on smooth paint with a gloss clear coat under the decals. Finish the interior with its roll cage and the engine bay before you close up the body. A restrained patina of dust and mud on the wheel arches and the underside suits a rally car.
