Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa in 1:24 scale. The subject is the Toyota Corolla Levin of the AE92 type in the top GT-Z form, and in the early version, which the name dates to 1987. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The AE92 generation brought the Levin a more modern, more angular body and a move away from the classic layout of its predecessors. The GT-Z form stood at the top of the range and differed from the ordinary versions in a forced-induction engine with a supercharger, which gave the car flexibility across the whole rev range. The early version of 1987 differs from the later series in details of the body and the equipment; the manufacturer therefore makes it as a separate box.
An angular body with sharp edges is rewarding to paint, but merciless toward parting lines that are not cleaned up well enough — it is precisely on the edges that they show most. Paint over a filler primer and in thin coats, and use a gloss varnish under the decals. The black window frames and plastic trim can be separated off with masking tape and flat black; the contrast between a glossy body and matte plastics counts for a lot on cars of this era. Finish the interior and the dashboard before closing the body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
