A kit of a modified Japanese car in 1:24 scale. The base is the Skyline of the generation designated R31, which passed through the hands of a specialized tuning firm and was given a name and a look of its own.
Tommykaira is one of the Japanese firms that did not stop at selling individual parts and built complete reworked cars under their own type designations. That is where the pair M20 and M30 in the name comes from: both are based on the R31 generation Skyline built from the middle of the 1980s and they differ in the engine and in the setup. Aerodynamic add-ons, different wheels, sportier suspension and an exhaust system were among the marks of such conversions, a set of changes that turned a family sedan into a sharp machine.
On tuning subjects half the success lies in the wheels and tires: seat them precisely and watch the gap to the fenders, or the model loses the right stance. Body add-ons need a clean joint, so fill the seams and sand them down. A saturated, high-gloss paint underlines the sporting character better than more matte shades.
The parts arrive raw and unassembled; the paint and the means of joining them are up to the modeler.
