A set of painting (kabuki) masks in 1:24 scale from the Czech maker Eduard, intended for a large-scale model of the British Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib fighter-bomber. The masks are die-cut in thin self-adhesive film and follow the shape of the canopy glazing frames and the outline of the wheels exactly. They make it easy to spray the frames and the tires crisply and cleanly. Neither the model nor paints are included in the package.
The Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib was a British single-seat fighter-bomber of the Second World War, powered by a strong Napier Sabre engine. It excelled above all as a ground-attack aircraft against targets on the ground, armed with cannons and able to carry bombs or unguided rockets. It came into its own mainly from the Normandy landings onwards, destroying vehicles on the ground.
Lift the individual masks carefully off the backing with tweezers and stick them onto clean glazing and wheels. Press the edges down carefully, so that paint cannot run underneath, and spray in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush. Once dry, take the masks off. Kabuki film shapes well even over slightly curved surfaces.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
