Responsibility details are not available.
A set of painting masks from the Peewit brand for a model of the Dassault Super Mystère B2 aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit or a set of accessory parts: the masks are stuck onto the areas of the model that are to stay unpainted while spraying and are taken off afterwards. A cut shape is more accurate and quicker than taping by hand, above all on rounded surfaces and intricate frames, where tape creases as it bends and paint creeps under the edge.
The Super Mystère B2 was a French single-seat fighter of the second half of the 1950s and represented the logical conclusion of the whole line Dassault gradually developed from subsonic types. It was the first Western European production aircraft able to reach supersonic speed in level flight, that is without a dive. Besides the French Air Force it also served abroad, and in Israeli service it saw real combat, which makes it a type with an unusually varied palette of color schemes among modelers.
For modelers building the Super Mystère B2 in 1:48 scale who want sharp transitions between colors and a cleanly separated glazing frame without the slow cutting of tape. It is a typical accessory that shows only on the finished model, because it is the transitions between colors and the cockpit frame that give away the quality of the work fastest.
