An injection-molded plastic kit of a German cavalryman of the Second World War together with a horse in the large 1:16 scale from Das Werk. The set portrays a member of the cavalry division that carried the name Florian Geyer. The large 1:16 scale allows detailed work on the face, the uniform, the riding equipment and the horse itself.
During the Second World War, mounted units were used mainly for reconnaissance, patrolling and fighting in difficult terrain where motorized equipment failed. The division carried an honorary name after a historical figure from the German Peasants' War. The figure is treated factually as a historical military subject; the set combines the rider with a faithfully rendered horse.
Clean the flash from the parts and glue them with thin cement for plastic, then fill the seams. In the large 1:16 scale the painting of the face and of the horse's coat really shows, so work with layering, shadows and highlights. Bring out the uniform and the leather items of equipment with a wash and dry brushing. Prime the figure and the horse before painting, ideally by spraying, and paint them separately.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
