1:72 Waffen SS WWII Zeltbahn - Blurred Edge

1:72 Waffen SS WWII Zeltbahn - Blurred Edge (ETA diorama)

An accessory for small dioramas in 1:72 scale. It represents the German Zeltbahn tent section in the version the name designates as Blurred Edge, that is with blurred edges to the individual patches of the camouflage.

A sharp and a blurred edge

German camouflage patterns of the Second World War are told apart, among other things, by how the fields of color pass into one another. A version with sharply bounded patches looks graphic and hard, whereas a blurred edge creates a soft transition that blends better with the background. Collectors and modelers take that difference seriously, because it decides which period and which production batch a section belongs to. In a very small scale a softer transition also refines the whole surface optically and does not overpower the rest of the scene.

Recommended procedure for setting it in

• First finish the terrain and the surface of the vehicle; the accessory comes later.
• Bend the shaping over a blunt wooden skewer, as sharp corners do a scene no good.
• Cover the contact with the base with a little dusting, and the seam will disappear.
• On a vehicle run the section over an edge, so that it looks genuinely thrown over it.

Who it is for

• For builders of scenes with German vehicles and infantry
• For modelers who work in a small scale and are looking for something to bring it to life
• For those interested in the differences between variants of camouflage patterns

The package holds the accessory alone. The model, the figures and modeling chemicals are not part of it.
