A pair of Matra R.550 Magic air-to-air guided missiles in 1:48 scale including the launcher. An accessory for aircraft models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Matra R.550 Magic is a French short-range air-to-air guided missile with infrared guidance, that is a weapon for close combat, where the pilot aims at the heat trace of an opponent. It was carried by French fighters and by a number of machines exported abroad, so it suits the stores of many models. On a finished model, missiles under the wings are one of the elements that catch the attention first.
Two pieces of the missile in 1:48 scale and with them the launcher by which the missile is hung on the aircraft. The set is a replacement for the parts from a kit or an accessory where a kit has no stores at all.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on them; use cyanoacrylate glue and check the procedure in the manufacturer's instructions. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little off the part and sand the remainder carefully so as not to damage the thin surfaces of the fins. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint the missiles separately and hang them on the aircraft only right at the end, after the decals are on and after varnishing; otherwise both the fuselage and the pylons are hard to reach. When seating them, watch that both missiles hang in one plane and parallel with the axis of the aircraft, because a store hung crooked is visible even from a distance.
For builders of jet aircraft in 1:48 scale who want to complete the armament of a model. The model, the paints, the decals and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
