An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. F tank with a motorcycle and figures in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. It is a combined set on the North Africa theme: the box holds a tank, a motorcycle and several figures, so the model forms the basis of a small combat scene. The set brings together parts from several proven Tamiya molds and new marking schemes.
The Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. F was the variant with the short 7.5 cm gun, built from 1941 to 1942. Among other theaters it served in North Africa, where it was a mainstay of the German Afrikakorps. Escorting motorcycles and a motorcycle dispatch rider were part of the everyday picture of desert columns. The combination of tank, motorcycle and figures in one box therefore captures the atmosphere of the African campaign well.
Finish and paint the running gear, the road wheels and the lower hull of the tank before you close it up. The motorcycle is small, so pay attention to the frame and the wheels. An airbrush suits the German desert sand camouflage; suggest wear by rubbing the edges and above all by a stronger dusty tone on the running gear and the lower areas, which evokes the dry desert. Paint the figures separately, build up the clothing and faces with oils or acrylic filters and fit them last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
