The plastic kit SAAB 91 Safir In Swedish services 1:72 from Kovozavody Prostejov captures the Swedish military and civil service of this training aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the SAAB 91 Safir in 1:72 scale from the Kovozavody Prostejov works (KP), this time in an edition devoted to Swedish service. The Safir was created in Sweden itself, and the Swedish Air Force and civil operators were among its most important users. The short-run kit contains plastic parts and a decal sheet; the exact contents of the package are given in the manufacturer's catalog.
The SAAB 91 Safir was designed by Anders J. Andersson and the machine first flew in 1945 at Linköping. In its homeland it served as the standard trainer and liaison aircraft, and it found use beyond training as well: the Swedes used the first prototypes as flying testbeds for trying out the swept wings of the future SAAB jet types. An all-metal structure with retractable landing gear and reliable Lycoming engines made it a long-lived and popular machine.
Expect the procedure typical of short-run kits: clean up the parts, trim off the molding remnants and check the fit dry. Glue with thin plastic cement. Swedish machines often carry striking metallic or single-color finishes, so a good base coat and even airbrush painting pay off. Settle the decals onto gloss varnish and unify the whole with a final coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
