A replacement main rotor vibration damper for the model of the Mil Mi-8MT or Mi-17 helicopter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mil Mi-8 and its later versions are among the most widespread helicopters in the world. This twin-engine machine with a five-blade main rotor was created in the Soviet Union and serves to this day in dozens of countries, in transport, cargo and armed versions. The Mi-8MT version is listed for export under the designation Mi-17. On these machines the main rotor head is a conspicuous assembly full of linkages, hinges and small fittings, and it tends to be the hardest part of the model to get right.
This is a stand-alone replacement part, the main rotor vibration damper, in other words the element fitted on top of the rotor head. It replaces the corresponding part from the kit, or supplies what the kit lacks. Because the rotor is visible from above as well as from the side on a finished model, a more accurate shape shows here far more than it does on parts hidden inside the fuselage.
Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the rest so as not to damage the shape. The part is not polystyrene, so it is joined with cyanoacrylate glue. Wash and degrease it before painting. Check the exact position on the rotor head and any changes to the surrounding parts in the manufacturer's instructions and in the kit instructions.
The helicopter kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
