An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale depicting the towed 120 mm mortar in service with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) together with the heavy truck that tows it. The package contains parts of the mortar on its wheeled carriage and of the towing vehicle; the model is built, filled and finished with ordinary modeling technique.
The subject is the 120 mm RT type mortar, a modern smoothbore heavy mortar of French design that the JGSDF adopted for fire support. The weapon sits on a two-wheeled trailer and is moved into its firing position by a truck that also carries the crew and the ammunition.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, fill the joints and sand them down. It is advisable to assemble and paint the carriage and the barrel of the mortar before they are covered by the body. An airbrush suits the period olive camouflage, and the weathering can be brought out with washes and dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
