A plastic kit of the twin-engine turboprop aircraft Beechcraft UC/TC-12B Huron in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand AA Models. The release is aimed at machines of the US Navy and the Marine Corps. Alongside the injection-molded parts the box also holds photo-etched details and self-adhesive painting masks, and the decals cover two markings - one naval and one for the Marine Corps.
The designation C-12 Huron belongs in United States service to the military versions of the civilian turboprop Beechcraft Super King Air. They are unobtrusive but immensely hard-working machines: they carry people and cargo between bases, serve as liaison and courier aircraft, in training and in further support duties. The UC-12B version is a transport and liaison machine of the Navy and the Marine Corps, while the TC-12B served to train crews for multi-engine aircraft. The type has lasted in service for decades and in various forms serves with several branches of the American armed forces.
The model has a large glazed cockpit and a row of small windows in the fuselage - this is exactly where it pays to reach for the masks supplied and spray the frames all at once. Add weight to the fuselage before closing it, so that the model does not sit on its tail. The tall fin and the slender engine nacelles will appreciate a smooth base and an even gloss under the decals. The service markings on a training machine are prominent, so it pays to lay the decals over gloss and to settle them with a decal softener.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
