The Extra EA-300L is a single-engine aerobatic aircraft of German build, intended for competition aerobatics and for air shows. The whole design answers to that: a short and stiff airframe that will take high g loads in both directions, large control surfaces for quick changes of attitude and a powerful piston engine. Machines of this type fly in many countries both in competition and in the training of advanced aerobatics.
A replacement four-blade propeller in 1:48 scale. It is swapped for the propeller from the kit, and thanks to it the model gets a finer shape of blade and a cleaner hub than the part from the box tends to have. You cannot build a model on its own from it; it is an accessory for finishing a kit. The exact application and the way it is fitted are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Dry-fit the propeller first and check that the pin or the shaft in the kit matches the hole in the hub; even out any difference with a drill bit, not by force. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest back, supporting the blade with a finger so that it does not bend. Use super glue and dose it with the tip of a toothpick; the surplus goes white and shows up on a glossy surface. Wash and degrease the part before painting. The blades of a propeller tend to be picked out in a different color from the hub, so it is easier to paint the propeller separately and to fit it to the model right at the very end.
