A set of miniature hexagonal bolts with a washer, 1.6 mm in size. It serves to replace coarsely molded or entirely missing bolted joints on models of military and civilian vehicles, on fenders, hinges, gearboxes, frames, flanges and girders as well as on diorama accessories. It is not a model and not a kit, but modeling fastener material that you fit yourself wherever you need it.
The size is not a scale
The figure of 1.6 mm is the real size of the part, not the scale of the model. Within this range it is one of the largest sizes: the range starts at tenths of a millimeter. Larger heads suit coarser joints and large scales, small sizes suit fine details on smaller models. Choose the size according to how large the bolt should really look on the model, not according to the scale of the kit.
First remove the original molded detail, best of all with a sharp scalpel held flat and then polished with a sanding sponge so that the surface is flat. Mark the position with a point or pre-drill it, seat the part with tweezers and fix it with a drop of thin super glue applied from the side, so that it does not run over the head and flood the edges of the hexagon. For regular rows, draw the spacing out beforehand with a fine pencil or use a strip of masking tape as a guide, because otherwise the row will be irregular and that will show on the finished model more than a missing detail would. Degrease the surface and spray a primer before painting, as without it paint holds badly on the smooth surface of small parts.
