The Peewit 1:72 Zlin Z-42M mask set for painting a model of the Czechoslovak trainer and aerobatic aircraft in 1:72.
Responsibility details are not available.
Although the name gives only the type of aircraft, this is not a kit but a mask set; that is how briefly the Peewit brand names its masks. The set is meant for modelers who are painting a model of the Zlin Z-42M in 1:72 and want the frames of the glazed cockpit to be precise without cutting tape by hand.
The cockpit of a small sporting aircraft is tiny in 1:72 and its frames are very thin, so it masks less easily than on large combat machines. A shape prepared in advance holds the edge straight and cuts the preparation down to a few minutes. Before spraying it is a good idea to degrease the surface, to press the mask down around its edge with a blunt tool and to lay the paint on in thin coats; then take the mask off before the layer has fully cured.
The Zlin Z-42 is a two-seat all-metal low-wing monoplane from the production of Moravan Otrokovice, used for basic training and for aerobatics. Machines of this family flew with flying clubs and in military and police training and became one of the most widespread Czech sporting aircraft. The version designated Z-42M is an upgraded variant of the basic type, and in modeling it is among the rewarding subjects precisely because of its domestic origin.
