A resin set of two SAC ejection seats for the Revell and Monogram kits of the American supersonic B-58 Hustler bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a model aircraft but a detail accessory that replaces the plain kit seats with more faithful castings carrying fine detail. The package contains two pieces. The set is made by SBS Model.
The Convair B-58 Hustler was the first American supersonic strategic bomber capable of twice the speed of sound. Early aircraft used conventional SAC ejection seats, and only the later versions moved to escape capsules. A well-rendered seat raises the look of an open cockpit considerably.
Wash the mold release agent off the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap and separate them carefully from the casting blocks. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the seats separately before setting them into the cockpit; an airbrush for the base coat, the harness painted in by hand and a fine wash to bring out the detail all work well.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
