This is a finished collector model, not a kit and not a functional weapon. Out of the package comes an example that is assembled and surface-finished at the factory, so it goes straight into a display case. The 1:3 scale means roughly a third of the size against the real subject, which compared with the usual modeling scales is a large and clearly legible object. That is exactly why shapes that are lost at small scales stand out on it: the layout of the receiver, the mounting rail, the stock and the shape of the grip.
The SR-25 is an American self-loading 7.62 mm rifle, derived in design from the AR-10 and AR-15 families. It differs from carbines of the same family in its heavier caliber, a longer and heavier barrel and an overall focus on precise shooting at greater distances. The upper part of the receiver is laid out as a flat rail for mounting optics, because the weapon is used strictly with a telescopic sight rather than with mechanical sights. The controls and the principle of operation stay the same as on the other weapons of this design line, which makes it easy to find your way around for anyone who knows the AR family.
Because of its size the model is more a standalone exhibit than part of an arrangement. It looks best laid horizontally on a shelf or on a flat stand, where the whole silhouette is visible. The rest of the care is simple: protect the model from direct sun, which changes the shade of the colors over time, and dust it with a soft brush rather than a cloth, which catches on small projections. Do not work on the model with solvent-based cleaners.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. It is not a functional weapon or a functional replica, but a non-functional model intended exclusively for display.
