A set of the small tools that American armored vehicles carried fixed to the outside of the hull and the fenders. It is precisely these small things that set apart a model that merely stands from a model that looks like a machine in service. In kits the tools tend to be molded in one piece with the hull and without sharp edges, so you will recognize replacement parts at first glance.
Carefully cut the original simplified shapes off the hull and sand the surface smooth before you fit the new parts. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Glue the parts with super glue onto a washed and degreased surface; how many pieces and which kinds of tools the set holds is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Tools are best painted to one side and fitted to the model only when finished. Start the wooden handles with a light ocher shade and add a darker glaze, and do the metal parts in dark steel; then tie both together with light dust so that the parts do not look stuck on. In 1:72 scale it is enough to suggest; too much contrast tends to break a small part up.
