A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:35 scale meant for detailing a model of the Soviet UAZ-452 in its command form. It is neither a model of the vehicle nor a kit in its own right: it is an accessory that replaces selected plastic parts of a model with finer metal ones and adds detail that cannot be impressed into an injection mold. You therefore need to have the base model.
The UAZ-452 is a Soviet light utility vehicle with the cab over the front axle and all-wheel drive, in series production from the 1960s. Thanks to its characteristic box body it picked up a nickname taken from the shape of a loaf of bread. A whole family of special forms grew out of it, including cargo, ambulance, workshop and command versions, and the vehicles stayed in military and civilian service for an exceptionally long time.
Photo-etched parts are cut out of the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface, not with cutters. Make the bends over a metal ruler or in a bender, so that the edge stays straight. Ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on metal: deal with the joints using super glue, or by soldering on larger parts. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
