A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:35 scale for a model of the Soviet UAZ-452 in its ambulance form. It is neither a model of the vehicle nor a kit in its own right but an accessory: it replaces selected plastic parts with finer metal and adds shapes that an injection mold cannot capture at a matching thickness. The base model of the vehicle is therefore a requirement.
The UAZ-452 is a Soviet light utility vehicle with all-wheel drive and the cab set over the front axle, in series production from the 1960s. Its box body earned it a nickname taken from the shape of a loaf of bread. The ambulance form was among the most widespread: the vehicles served the army as well as the civilian health service, and thanks to their high ground clearance they got where an ordinary ambulance could not reach.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface, not with side cutters; the edge then stays straight. Make the bends over a metal ruler or in a bender. Metal is not joined with cement for plastic but with super glue; on larger areas the joint holds better if you mark the position of the part beforehand. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a primer.
