This accessory set from the Polish brand Aber contains, according to the name, two turned barrels of the German 30 mm Flak 103 cannon for the Flakpanzer IV Kugelblitz anti-aircraft tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of the vehicle but replacement parts for a kit: a turned barrel has a clean circular muzzle against a plastic part, an accurate cross section along its whole length, and it does away with sanding the mold seam, which on a pair of thin barrels tends to be the most laborious part of the build.
The Kugelblitz was a German anti-aircraft tank of the end of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Panzer IV. Its hallmark was a fully enclosed spherical turret with a pair of cannons of 3 cm caliber, which gave the crew markedly better protection than the open turrets of the earlier Flakpanzers and at the same time allowed fire to be brought quickly onto low-flying targets. Only a few machines were finished by the end of the war and series service never came, but the subject enjoys all the more attention among modelers for it.
Cut the plastic barrels off and level the remaining stub, so that the metal part sits exactly on the axis of the turret. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer intended for metal surfaces, otherwise the paint holds badly and rubs off during handling. The muzzle of the barrel comes out best when you only pick it out lightly with graphite or a dark shade. Check the seating dry, while the part can still be turned.
