1:32 GOTHA G.IV - SEATBELTS are fabric seat belts from HGW for the crew positions of the German Gotha G.IV bomber in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech maker HGW brings fabric seat belts for the crew positions of the large German Gotha G.IV bomber. It is neither a model of the aircraft nor a part of one, but an accessory with which the seats of a model already under way in 1:32 scale are fitted out.
Unlike a stiff part, webbing made of cloth can be bent, allowed to sag and arranged exactly as the belt hung in the real machine. Thrown over the edge of a seat or left hanging down to the floor, it reads convincingly even under the magnification that 1:32 scale offers. On First World War aircraft with open cockpits the interior is on show the whole time, so the belts are one of the first details of the whole build that the eye stops on.
The Gotha G.IV was a twin-engine heavy bomber of the German air service (Luftstreitkräfte), in use from 1917. It became known for its day and night raids on England, in which it took over the role of the slow and vulnerable airships. The crew consisted of a pilot and gunners, and their positions were open, with no canopy over them.
