Brengun 1:32 British 50 gallon drop tank is a resin accessory for models of British aircraft. It is not an airplane kit but an external fuel tank with which you complete a model in 1:32 scale.

A resin set from the maker Brengun represents a British jettisonable auxiliary fuel tank of fifty gallons capacity, that is roughly 227 liters by the British measure. The resin casting has a smooth surface with no parting line and finely suggested surface detail, which tells against injected plastic above all on the smooth shape of a tank. The package holds the accessory alone; the airplane itself has to be obtained separately as a kit in 1:32 scale.
Drop tanks extended the range of fighters and fighter-bombers on transfers and on long-range missions. They were hung under the fuselage or under the wing, their fuel was used up first and before combat they could be jettisoned so that the airplane did not lose agility and speed to the extra drag. The Royal Air Force used several capacity ranges of these tanks according to the type of airplane and the nature of the mission; for a display case a tank is a rewarding accessory, because it places a model in a particular role at once.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the residue of release agent from the mold, or the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw or a cutting disc, and never break them. Sanding is done strictly wet and with breathing protection, because resin dust is not to be inhaled. It is glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary cement for plastic does not work on resin. Apply a primer before painting, check the attachment points dry and unify the finished tank with the airplane using the same wash and the same degree of dirt.
The set is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
