This item is not a kit of an airplane but a detail resin set from the Aires brand. It replaces the cockpit of a plastic kit of the Douglas A-1H Skyraider in 1:32 scale with a complete resin assembly that includes the seat in the version with the Yankee extraction system. It is precisely this system that sets the late machines apart from the original form, and it is clearly visible on a model with an open canopy.
In the large 1:32 scale the cockpit is the most closely watched place on a model, because the canopy is usually open and the viewer looks inside. A resin casting manages the cast structure of the side panels, an instrument panel with relief and the shape of the seat in one piece, that is detail which is hard to do in injection-molded plastic. Sets of this type are fitted into a model in place of the original tub and tend to be supplemented with etched parts, but check their exact contents with the package itself.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with detergent, because otherwise paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, sand the surfaces wet and protect your breathing. A cockpit is almost always tried dry several times in a row - with sets of this kind it is reckoned that material will be taken away from the inside of the fuselage, so that the tub sits down. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Spray the interior with an airbrush, emphasize the details with a dark wash and the edges with a dry brush, and the seat belts are managed by painting flat with subsequent emphasis.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
